Career

He is the author of nine books including The Mount Sinai Myth, based on an archeological search for Mt. Sinai in Egypt, was later featured in Vanity Fair in a re-write by Howard Blum. Royalties from his books go to a scholarship at the University of Oregon in honor of his college professor, Max Wales. His most current book is "Confessions of a Tax Rebel". This books discusses his battle with the IRS which led to trial on three charges of tax evasion. All charges were dropped on the third day of trial.
Williams has created several market indicators including Williams %R, Ultimate Oscillator, and value measurements for commodity prices. He was the first recipient of TradeStation Life Time Achievement Award. Williams won the 1987 World Cup Championship of Futures Trading from the Robbins Trading Company, where he turned $10,000 to over $1,100,000 (11,376%) in a 12 month competition with real money. Ten Years later his daughter Michelle won the same contest, as have numerous of his students. He is the first author to write books on Seasonality and commodity prices, the originator of the Volatality Breakout technique as well as the first to write about the Commitments of Traders report.
Williams was twice the Republican Party nominee to the United States Senate in Montana, losing to Representative Max Baucus in 1978 and to incumbent Senator John Melcher in 1982.

Home-grown retailer Sheng Siong has announced its initial public offering (IPO) was oversubscribed by approximately 1.3 times. This was based on a total of 351.5 million Invitation Shares and the total valid applications received, amounting to approximately 448.7 million Invitation Shares. They comprised approximately 85.3 million Offer Shares and 363.4 million Placement Shares. The supermarket chain said it received strong interest from retail investors and backed by quality institutional investors. Anchor investors for the IPO include JF Asset Management Limited and Prudential Asset Management (Singapore) Limited. Sheng Siong is due to start trading on the Singapore Exchange on August 17, despite turbulence in the global market.
